Norman has been granted yet another 100 % award for its antivirus product. The product has been reviewed by the independent and well-respected magazine Virus Bulletin. (VB). Every other month Virus Bulletin is testing leading antivirus products from several IT secutiry vendors. This months test was performed on anti virus products for Linux. Norman Virus Control was awarded a 100 % recognition for its ability to detect and stop viruses. - We are pleased to receive the recognition that our Norman Virus Control for Linux is of the same high quality as all other versions. The award is an important motivation for further development of Linux technology, an area that we regard as having a large growing potential, says head of research and development Steinar Wigtil at Norman ASA. Norman SandBox, a proactive technology that stops new and unknown viruses, is implemented in all of Normans antivirus products. The SandBox is not dependant on traditional signature based technology. This makes it possible to prevent virus attacks at an early stage. Norman is the only company to have this unique technology. Linux is constantly taking larger pieces of the market. Last year the total revenue of the Linux market was 20 000 million US dollars, while the forecast for 2008 is 40 000 million US dollars. |
