The quarterly report of Internet Threat Trends has been already published by Commtouch.
The report summarizes the first quarter of 2010 by presenting main digital threats that menace all Internet users.
The highlights of the report
- Spam levels averaged to the 83% of all email traffic throughout the quarter, reaching almost 92% in March and bottoming out at 75% at the beginning of the year.
- Pharmacy is still on the top of the list of spam topics (81% of all spam).
- An average of 305,000 zombies has been activated daily. Brazil is still found the epicenter of their production (14% of global zombie activity).
- The Mal/Bredo malware had 838 variants during the quarter.
- Most phishing pages are hosted under the categories of "sex education" or "games".
- ‘Pornography’ has replaced "business" as the Web site category most likely to be compromised with malware.
