Why Multiple Engines?
Here are some reasons why you should use multiple anti-virus engines when protecting your mission-critical messaging infrastructure:
- Bottleneck
- Faster reaction time
- Bigger database of known viruses, trojans, worms, spyware, adware, riskware and all other malware
- Different heuristic methods
- Different operation systems and mail servers
- Different types of scanned files (more than 70 types in SMI!)
- Geographicall distribution of analysis centers
- Some differences in procedures, methods of searching malware and in adding them to descriptors database by the anti-virus vendors
- The analysis of different reports shows that perfect anti-virus engine does not exist
If you are responsible for messaging infrastructure protection in your company, ask yourself a question ”What more can I do to protect my e-mail?” What answers can you find? Buy a software from a better known company? Install different software on desktops and on gateway? Yes, but in case of damage – others will ask you if you had really done everything possible to preserve company’s resources. There are no better solutions than SMI! Think about this and don't be in a quandary anymore.
